livconcert.com is an independent catalogue that gathers, in one place, the filmed live concerts available on YouTube — from legendary archives to today’s filmed sessions. The goal: to help you find, place and (re)discover the performances that matter, instead of getting lost in the platforms’ endless recommendations.
What you’ll find here
Each entry brings together the concert video, its context (the artist at the time, the venue, the festival), the setlist and the personnel — musicians and, where documented, the technical crew. The catalogue is trilingual (French, English, Spanish) and can be browsed by genre, venue / festival and decade.
Our curation method
- Careful selection. We only list the recording of a real live performance — a full concert or a substantial set — with genuine heritage value or notability.
- Link checking. Every video is checked regularly. If a recording disappears from YouTube, the entry is removed or another recording of the same concert is sourced. We don’t leave dead links.
- Sourced documentation. Setlists and personnel come from verifiable sources (setlist.fm, archives, official descriptions). We never invent a line-up: what cannot be verified is not shown.
- Honest attribution. livconcert hosts no video. We index and contextualise content publicly available on YouTube, always linking back to its source.
Who runs livconcert
livconcert.com is edited by Simon Janvier. This catalogue is not the work of an anonymous algorithm: it is kept by someone who has spent much of his life on and around the stage.
From the late 1990s, Simon Janvier worked as a sound, lighting and video engineer for concerts and festivals, from the Rennes live scene (l’Ubu, the Trans Musicales, the TNB, the Liberté) to touring in Normandy as a freelance stage technician. He then became a studio technical director, notably alongside Éric Mouquet (Deep Forest) and producer Pierre Jacquot, and spent three years volunteering at the Jazz in Marciac festival. A jazz and pop pianist, he has produced albums and written arrangements.
He also led the digital marketing of Playback.fr, France’s first online professional-audio and instrument store, and launched the first French-language pro-audio news account on social media. Today a digital expert and online-media publisher, he designs and maintains livconcert.com. This dual background — live sound on one side, web publishing on the other — is what makes it possible to document each concert accurately rather than merely stacking up videos.
