Filmed live in the KEXP radio studio in Seattle, this session features Amyl and The Sniffers, the Australian punk rock band fronted by singer Amy Taylor. Recorded on October 6, 2022, the performance falls within the cycle of their album Comfort to Me, released in 2021, which pushed the Melbourne group onto international stages. The full concert captures the quartet’s raw energy: four songs delivered back to back, driven by Amy Taylor’s commanding stage presence, Declan Mehrtens’ wiry guitar, and the rhythm section of Bryce Wilson on drums and Fergus Romer on bass. This KEXP full performance showcases the band’s pub rock and punk revival style, built on direct riffs and shouted hooks. The stripped-back, front-facing studio format highlights the live dynamic and the band’s interaction on camera. The set includes “Guided By Angels” and “Hertz,” two signature tracks from the Amyl and The Sniffers catalogue, alongside “Don’t Fence Me In” and “Choices.” A representative document of the early-2020s Australian punk scene, captured with the careful sound and multi-camera production that KEXP’s Seattle studio sessions are known for.
