Why this recording

Three hours at the Dance Temple: a format Astrix himself says he rarely plays, and one that gives him room to cover much of his catalogue. The MixesDB tracklist, dated 26 July 2023, shows a set built largely on his own tracks, remixes and mashups, from Liquid Gold to Artcore, taking in a reworking of Jefferson Airplane's Somebody To Love and his remix of Juno Reactor's Conquistador. It closes with Shamanic Tales. The film is by Pawel Wieloch, and the festival released the audio on its own SoundCloud.

A major figure of global psytrance, Israel’s Astrix sets ablaze the Dance Temple of one of the planet’s most iconic electronic-music festivals. Hypnotic kicks, acid lines, endless build-ups and cosmic breakdowns: this three-hour psytrance set illustrates the art of taking a dancefloor on a journey from dusk to dawn.
