On 31 May 2025, Billy Strings closed his hometown residency at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan — the second and final date of his spring run in the region where he grew up. This filmed live concert showcases the guitarist and singer’s new-generation bluegrass, between traditional virtuosity, psychedelic jams and surprise covers. That night, the band nodded to Billy Strings’ recent sit-in with Bob Dylan on Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Tour, then returned to its roots with The Dillards’ « Old Home Place », unplayed for more than fifty shows. Backed by his acoustic quintet — banjo, mandolin, fiddle, upright bass — Billy Strings turns the arena into a genuine improvisation laboratory. A capture of a full concert by one of the most prominent artists on today’s folk and Americana scene, this live archive does justice to the scope of his sets and the fervour of a connoisseur crowd.
