Full concert captured at London’s Rainbow Theatre on 4 June 1977, the climax of Bob Marley & The Wailers’ four-night London run on the Exodus Tour. The band performs the freshly released Exodus album in a peak-era lineup: the Barrett brothers’ rhythm section — Aston “Family Man” Barrett on bass and Carlton Barrett on drums — with Tyrone Downie and Earl “Wya” Lindo on keyboards, Junior Marvin and Al Anderson on guitars, Alvin “Seeco” Patterson on percussion, and the I Threes (Rita Marley, Marcia Griffiths, Judy Mowatt) on backing vocals. The setlist strings together Marley’s reggae manifestos — “Trenchtown Rock,” “I Shot the Sheriff,” “No Woman No Cry,” “Get Up, Stand Up” and “Exodus” — in a live filmed performance that conveys the fervour of the London crowd. This 1977 live concert, among the best-documented of Marley’s career, is a landmark of reggae on stage. An essential full concert for understanding the stagecraft of Jamaican music’s greatest ambassador at London’s Rainbow Theatre.
