Filmed live concert by Cory Wong at New York’s Blue Note, with saxophonist Kenny Garrett as guest, during his residency on the legendary jazz club’s stage in November 2025. A virtuoso rhythm guitarist associated with Vulfpeck, Cory Wong unfurls his nervy funk-jazz, all crisp riffs, precise grooves and instrumental dialogue. The presence of Kenny Garrett, a former Miles Davis sideman and major figure of contemporary jazz, pushes the set toward improvisation and fusion, between New York club tradition and modern energy. This concert film captures the chemistry of a well-drilled band in the intimacy of the Blue Note, a world capital of live jazz. A full concert ideal for appreciating the art of interplay, Cory Wong’s rhythmic rigour and Kenny Garrett’s melodic freedom. A 2025 live document to rank among the fine meetings of modern funk and improvised jazz, in one of New York’s most prestigious rooms. A fine way into the living tradition of the New York jazz club, where funk, groove and improvisation meet in real time.
