This filmed live concert captures David Gilmour at Rome’s Circo Massimo in 2024, in the ancient setting where the Pink Floyd guitarist and singer played six nights during his first tour since 2016, built around the album Luck and Strange. The full concert alternates new material (Luck and Strange, The Piper’s Call, Dark and Velvet Nights) with Pink Floyd landmarks: Time, Breathe, Wish You Were Here, Sorrow, High Hopes and a closing Comfortably Numb. Gilmour is backed by an expanded band — Guy Pratt on bass, Adam Betts on drums, Rob Gentry on keyboards — and his daughter Romany Gilmour on harp and vocals. Directed by Gavin Elder, the film frames the crystalline tone of his Stratocaster solos against the stone of the Roman circus. A valuable record of the 2024 live rock stage, poised between Floydian legacy and late-career writing, shot in one of the most history-laden venues in Europe.
