Dua Lipa — Tiny Desk (Home), NPR, 2020

Dua Lipa in a live session for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk (Home) Concert, recorded in London in December 2020. In the « home » format devised during the pandemic, the British-Albanian pop star recreates a glittering disco setting to perform four songs from her album « Future Nostalgia »: « Levitating », « Pretty Please », « Love Again » and « Don’t Start Now ». Backed by a live band — Matthew Carroll on bass, Alex Lanyon on guitar — and backing vocalists, she turns in an energetic performance, between nu-disco, danceable pop and nods to the 1980s. This filmed recording became the most-viewed Tiny Desk in the series’ history, with over one hundred million views, proof of its impact. A live concert ideal for (re)discovering one of contemporary pop’s major voices in an intimate yet festive format, where the live groove reveals another side of « Future Nostalgia », far from the studio productions.
