Omega Alive is the streaming concert spectacle Epica conceived on 12 June 2021, filmed at AED Studios in Lint, Belgium, as a response to being unable to tour behind the album Omega during the pandemic. The Dutch symphonic metal band — led by singer Simone Simons, guitarist and harsh vocalist Mark Jansen, guitarist Isaac Delahaye, keyboardist Coen Janssen, bassist Rob van der Loo and drummer Ariën van Weesenbeek — mounted a production involving dozens of artists and crew: pyrotechnics, circus performers, aerial acrobats and elaborate staging. This live performance, structured in acts, moves through « Abyss of Time », « The Skeleton Key », « Unchain Utopia », « Victims of Contingency », the a cappella « Rivers », « Beyond the Matrix » and the closing « Omega – Sovereign of the Sun Spheres ». Officially streamed and later issued on Blu-ray and as a live album, the capture stands out for its audiovisual scope: choirs, orchestrations and ambitious scenography serving dense symphonic metal. It is a full concert that conveys the full scale of Epica in a screen-first format — a reference for anyone drawn to symphonic metal and large-scale live production.
