Recorded at NOLA Funk Fest 2024 in New Orleans, this full live concert spotlights Erica Falls, one of the most sought-after voices on Louisiana’s soul scene. Long a backing and lead singer with Galactic, Erica Falls here fronts her own project, Vintage Soul, in a set that draws as much on classic 1970s soul as on contemporary rhythm and blues. Over the thick groove typical of the Crescent City sound, her broad, gospel-tinged voice moves between smoldering ballads and dancefloor numbers, backed by a punchy rhythm section and warm horns. A multi-song filmed live performance captured at the heart of a festival devoted to funk and soul, this set conveys the infectious energy of a singer who embodies the living heritage of New Orleans. A live concert to discover for anyone chasing authentic soul, between tradition and modernity, carried by a performer with obvious stage charisma.
