Filmed live session bringing together French multi-instrumentalist FKJ (French Kiwi Juice) and British drummer Yussef Dayes, a figure of the London jazz renaissance. Titled “Live From The Greenhouse”, this recording distils a day of live improvisation and song-building into a suite of pieces played in real time, from first sketches to full bloom. Across “10 Years Ago”, “Ylang Ylang”, “Risk”, “Brother” and “100 Roses”, the two artists weave an organic instrumental dialogue in which FKJ’s keys, guitar, saxophone and loops answer Yussef Dayes’s fluid, polyrhythmic drumming. The result sits as much in jazz as in electronic soul and club music, in an intimate, spontaneous approach. This live session captures the rapport of two exceptional musicians and the joy of real-time creation. An ideal document for fans of contemporary jazz, improvisation and filmed live sessions, showing how music is born when it is allowed to build itself on camera, note after note, in a single shared breath.
