This filmed live set documents a near five-hour marathon by Floating Points, the alias of British producer and DJ Sam Shepherd, recorded in New York for Boiler Room on 17 July 2024. The event marks the artist’s return to the platform more than a decade after he played Boiler Room’s second-ever edition in 2010, a recording that was subsequently lost. Classically trained and holding a doctorate in neuroscience, Shepherd is known for sets that are as eclectic as they are demanding, moving between house, disco, jazz, ambient electronica and Afro-percussion. Across this full set, he unfolds a long, shifting journey that alternates euphoric peaks with more contemplative stretches, delivered in the intimate, close-quarters format that defines Boiler Room. This performance is a DJ set rather than a concert of original songs, showcasing the art of the extended mix and the club culture the artist champions. Filmed tight against the booth and the New York crowd, the video captures the energy of a whole night condensed into one continuous recording — essential viewing for followers of electronic music and long-form DJ sets.
