Filmed live concert by Fred Hammond at the Gospel Celebration organized by the cultural nonprofit Music Moves in Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA, as part of Gospel Music Heritage Month, celebrated each September. A singer, bassist and producer, Fred Hammond is one of the major figures of contemporary gospel and American urban gospel. A pioneer of a sound blending praise, R&B and soul, he has deeply influenced sacred music over the past three decades, from the group Commissioned to his solo career and the collective Radical for Christ. On stage, backed by his ensemble, he unfolds a unifying praise repertoire, between fervor, soul grooves and generous vocal harmonies. This live capture restores the warmth of a communal gospel concert, carried by the exchange with the audience and the spiritual energy particular to the genre. A full concert ideal for discovering Fred Hammond’s stage craft and the intensity of American gospel live, within an event devoted to African-American musical heritage. A precious document for lovers of sacred music and inspired soul.
