Why this recording

Posted a year after the show by Buzz Events, the concert's promoter rather than the artist, the video presents the whole March 2019 performance at Berăria H in HD, over 1 hour 39 minutes. The Bucharest venue had already hosted a Gipsy Kings concert in December 2018. Here the film documents the band guitarist Paco Baliardo leads under the “Gipsy Kings by Paco Baliardo” banner, one of the stage offshoots of the group's name, in a long format that lets the concert run from start to finish.

Filmed live concert of Gipsy Kings by Paco Baliardo at Berăria H in Bucharest, Romania, in 2019. Rooted in the Roma community of Arles and Montpellier, the Gipsy Kings popularised rumba flamenca worldwide, a heady blend of flamenco, Catalan rumba and pop, driven by whirling nylon-string guitars and gravelly voices. A founding guitarist of the group, Paco Baliardo carries this legacy on stage with a lineup that foregrounds acoustic guitars, palmas and sun-drenched rhythms. This capture conveys the infectious warmth of a concert in which the audience dances and sings along to melodies that have become universal. Between festive fervour and instrumental virtuosity, the set illustrates the vitality of a hybrid music born in the south of France and spread across every continent. An ideal live concert for lovers of flamenco, Roma rumba and world music, notable for its contagious energy, flamboyant guitars and Mediterranean party atmosphere. The filmed set is a joyful reminder of how far this Franco-Andalusian sound has travelled across the world.
