The Guttman Tango Quintet live at the Pietrasanta in Concerto 2025 festival, in the cloister of Sant’Agostino, Tuscany, on 23 July. Led by violinist Michael Guttman, the ensemble presents its « Classical Music Meets Tango » programme, setting classical tradition in dialogue with Argentine tango. Around the violin, Lysandre Donoso’s bandoneon, Ivo De Greef’s piano, Stijn Kuppens’s cello and Ariel Eberstein’s double bass weave arrangements in which Mozart, Mendelssohn and Mahler meet the sensuality of tango. This filmed live recording captures the finesse of an open-air chamber concert, between virtuosity and emotion, beneath the arcades of a historic cloister. A full concert ideal for discovering a learned, cross-bred tango at the crossroads of classical Europe and Buenos Aires. A 2025 live document worthy of an ensemble at home on great stages, reinventing the concert-tango repertoire with elegance and depth. The open-air Tuscan setting and the ensemble’s refined arrangements make this a rare chance to hear concert tango filmed live in a historic Italian cloister.
