HYDE — Essigfabrik, Cologne, 2025

On November 18, 2025, Japanese rock artist HYDE stopped at the Essigfabrik in Cologne, Germany, as part of his [INSIDE] LIVE 2025 WORLD TOUR. A defining figure of Japanese rock, HYDE is best known as the vocalist of L’Arc-en-Ciel and VAMPS before building an acclaimed solo career. This full concert captures the Cologne date, part of the tour’s European leg, staged in an intimate, sold-out venue. The set draws on his solo catalogue and side projects, featuring ‘LET IT OUT,’ ‘AFTER LIGHT,’ ‘DEFEAT,’ the VAMPS song ‘DEVIL SIDE,’ ‘MAD QUALIA,’ ‘MIDNIGHT CELEBRATION II,’ a cover of Linkin Park’s ‘Faint,’ plus L’Arc-en-Ciel’s ‘HONEY’ and ‘GLAMOROUS SKY’ later in the night. Blending modern metal, industrial energy and melodic hooks, the performance shows how HYDE bridges Japanese and Western rock scenes. Filmed live in Cologne in 2025, this document conveys the intensity of a dense evening and the reception German audiences gave one of J-rock’s most influential artists. For fans following the [INSIDE] world tour, the Essigfabrik show stands as a compact, hard-hitting live snapshot of HYDE on stage in Europe.
