Why this recording

Lorena Calabria's notes for Tiny Desk Brasil offer a rare insight: IZA rehearsed this set in her living room, recreating the tight musician layout the format demands. The running order traces an arc, from “Caos e Sal,” which launches her new phase, to “Saudade Daquilo,” a first-album track that was never a single, then “Mó Paz” from her EP. “Dona de Mim” and “Meu Talismã” close the session. By her own account, these are her first acoustic versions since the covers she used to post online, arranged by her cousin, guitarist Bruno Costa.

IZA takes her place at the famous little desk of Tiny Desk Brasil for a filmed live session that marks a turning point in the Brazilian singer’s career. Recorded in 2026 and released on the official channel of the Brazilian format inspired by NPR’s Tiny Desk, this live set reveals an IZA leaning into reggae and soul, reworking her hits into organic, stripped-down arrangements. Backed by a full band under the musical direction of Bruno Costa, she performs songs such as “Meu Talismã”, “Dona de Mim” and the single “Caos e Sal”, drawn from her new musical phase and made in collaboration with Feijuca, Rafa Chagas and Nave. Jorge Continentino’s saxophone and flute, Silvanny Sivuca’s percussion and warm soul backing vocals color an intimate performance in which IZA’s voice carries a message of freedom, Black music and female leadership. This factual, understated live performance stands among the notable live moments of Brazil’s pop and R&B scene in 2026, available as a filmed live session on livconcert.com.
