Jan Blomqvist, the Berlin producer and singer known for his ‘concert techno’ approach, delivers here a live performance filmed at Maxa during Burning Man 2026, on 5 September, deep in the playa and amid a fierce dust storm. Unlike a conventional DJ set, Blomqvist performs his own compositions on stage, blending live vocals and machines into melodic, atmospheric electronic music. Running about 90 minutes and shot in near-zero visibility, the performance takes on a singular character: masked and behind goggles, the artist sings against the wind and works through his repertoire, from ‘Left Unsaid’ to ‘The Space In Between’, taking in collaborations with Rodriguez Jr. and Oliver Schories and a remix of RY X. This filmed live performance, directed by Severin Koller for Maxa, captures the immediacy and connection unique to Burning Man, away from everyday distractions. Beobê and Marvin Jam make guest appearances. The document illustrates Blomqvist’s live, introspective approach, spanning electro, melodic house and electronic pop.
