This live set was recorded in Medellín, Colombia, in 2026, built around electronic guaracha, also known as aleteo or zapateo. Emerging in Medellín in the 2010s, guaracha is a Colombian club genre that grafts festive elements of traditional music — trumpets, tambora drums, cumbia inflections — onto fast, pounding electronic rhythms made for the dance floor. Manguito DJ works within this scene: his DJ sets string together high tempos, percussive breaks and chopped vocal hooks that cue the ‘zapateo,’ the stamping footwork the genre is named for. The filmed set illustrates this direct, physical energy, aimed at a crowd of dancers rather than seated listening. Guaracha has spread beyond Colombia and onto international electronic festivals, carried by a generation of local DJs. No official tracklist accompanies this recording, and the field is deliberately left empty. The video documents an atmosphere and a fast-growing regional style — Colombian party music mixed live — more than a defined list of individual tracks, capturing the raw drive that has pushed the sound out of Medellín’s clubs and across borders.
