Archival live capture of Manitas de Plata in concert in 1986. A Romani flamenco guitarist from the Camargue, Ricardo Baliardo — known as “Manitas de Plata” (little silver hands) — was an international flamenco-guitar figure, admired by Picasso and Jean Cocteau and one of the first to bring this music to the world’s great stages. In this restored performance (color and audio correction from Toufik’s archives), he plays surrounded by his circle — Bambo, Manéro, Nanasso and Nino Baliardo — blending virtuoso playing, palmas and Gypsy singing. The recording captures the spontaneity and fervor of the traditional flamenco of the Camargue Roma, between fiery rumbas and improvisation. A rare and precious filmed live concert for lovers of flamenco and guitar, documenting the art of a self-taught musician who became a legend in his lifetime. As the exact track list is not documented, it is not detailed here.
