Filmed on the FedEx stage by the Ethos Music Center’s “vid-kids”, this performance immortalises the Arkansas guitarist and singer Michael Burks, who died in 2012, alongside multi-instrumentalist Lucky Peterson. It captures a raw, powerful electric blues, all incisive riffs and impassioned vocals, in the great tradition of American festival blues. Filmed in support of the Oregon Food Bank, the capture holds the value of a document: it records the live playing of a respected bluesman at the height of his art.
