Full concert by the band OMA filmed at Tokyo’s Liquidroom in 2024. A live hip-hop outfit from Manchester, OMA re-plays as a band, instruments in hand, a full hour of rap and funk classics and deep cuts, between covers and reworkings. This live concert strings together an impressive medley: Xxplosive, Forget About Dre, The Next Episode, Break Ya Neck, The World Is Yours, C.R.E.A.M., Hypnotize, Juicy, Electric Relaxation, Check the Rhime, Shook Ones and many other cornerstones of hip-hop, played with the warmth of a real band. Led by producer and musician Corben Lamb, the group turns legendary beats into organic performances, backed by a rhythm section and horns. This live capture documents the contemporary instrumental hip-hop scene and the bridge it builds between legendary samples and live playing. A hip-hop live concert to discover for lovers of groovy covers and beatmaking culture, filmed in a renowned Tokyo venue before a crowd won over by the band’s collective energy.
