Live capture of the 6th Bonn Opera Gala, in May 2017, held in aid of the German AIDS Foundation. This filmed concert brings together international voices — tenors Atalla Ayan and Joshua Guerrero, sopranos Janai Brugger, Siobhan Stagg and Marigona Qerkezi, baritone George Gagnidze, mezzo-sopranos Annalisa Stroppa and Virginie Verrez, bass Alexander Tsymbalyuk — accompanied by the Beethoven Orchester Bonn conducted by Jacques Lacombe and the Theater Bonn chorus. The program unfolds the most famous arias of the operatic repertoire: La donna e mobile (Verdi, Rigoletto), Che gelida manina (Puccini, La boheme), Sempre libera (Verdi, La traviata), Va, pensiero, along with pages by Mozart, Donizetti, Bellini, Bizet, Beethoven and Lehar. This classical live performance offers an accessible panorama of bel canto, between vocal virtuosity and emotion, captured during a charity gala evening. An opera live concert ideal for discovering the great arias, served by a star cast and a Romantic orchestra, carefully filmed for the lyric stage.
