Why this recording

Recorded on May 7, 2026 and released two months later, the KEXP session shows a band in which four of the five members add synths, sampler, keyboards or effects to their instrument, according to the credits. The timecodes reveal uneven lengths: “Kuulen ääniä maan alta” stretches over seven minutes, from 10:26 to 17:36, while “Muuntautuja” lasts under five. Tanner Ellison hosts; Kevin Suggs and guest engineer Tom Brooke handle the audio, Matt Ogaz the mastering. Five camera operators are credited, and Jim Beckmann edited the video.

Oranssi Pazuzu, the Finnish psychedelic black metal band from Tampere, delivers a full in-studio performance for Live on KEXP, recorded at the KEXP studio in Seattle on May 7, 2026, the day before their appearance at Northwest Terror Fest. Streamed by the public radio station in July 2026, the session captures the five-piece across four extended compositions: “Voitelu,” “Muuntautuja,” “Kuulen ääniä maan alta” and “Bioalkemisti,” drawing in part on their 2024 album Muuntautuja. The lineup features Juho “Jun-His” Vanhanen on vocals and guitar, Toni “Ontto” Hietamäki on bass and synth, Niko “Ikon” Lehdontie on guitar, sampler and synth, Ville “Evil” Leppilahti on keyboards, effects and vocals, and Jarkko “Korjak” Salo on drums. Hosted by Tanner Ellison with audio engineering by Kevin Suggs, this filmed live performance documents the group’s fusion of black metal, krautrock and psychedelia in KEXP’s controlled studio environment. For catalog purposes this entry references the official KEXP full performance video, a reliable primary source for the setlist, recording date and personnel of this live concert in Seattle.
