Recorded on April 28, 2026 at KEXP’s studios in Seattle, Washington, this full performance captures Queens of the Stone Age in an expanded, orchestral configuration tied to their Alive in the Catacombs era. Rather than a standard rock set, the band reworks its catalog with strings, brass and woodwinds: violin, viola, cello, trumpet, trombone, tuba and French horn join the core five-piece of Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Michael Shuman, Dean Fertita and Jon Theodore. The session opens with ‘Someone’s in the Wolf’ (from 2005’s Lullabies to Paralyze), woven into a medley, followed by ‘Mosquito Song,’ the acoustic closer of 2002’s Songs for the Deaf. ‘Keep Your Eyes Peeled,’ the brooding opener of 2013’s …Like Clockwork, precedes ‘Spinning in Daffodils,’ originally the closing track of Josh Homme’s Them Crooked Vultures project. Hosted by Troy Nelson and engineered by KEXP’s team, the video was published to KEXP’s YouTube channel on June 25, 2026. It documents a rare, chamber-styled reading of Queens of the Stone Age material, filmed live in-studio and presented as a complete, uninterrupted performance.
