Full live concert of Samara Joy at the Philharmonie de Paris, captured on 15 March 2025 and broadcast by ARTE Concert. Born in New York in 1999 into a family of music lovers and steeped in gospel, rhythm and blues and soul, Samara Joy discovered jazz in high school before winning the prestigious Sarah Vaughan vocal jazz competition in 2019. Within a few years she became one of the great voices of her generation, honoured with several Grammy Awards. Touring France in support of the album Portrait, the singer unfolds at the Philharmonie de Paris an art of phrasing and swing inherited from the jazz divas, moving between reimagined standards and original compositions. This filmed live concert showcases the richness of her tone, her command of vocal improvisation and the rapport with her ensemble. A polished capture, ideal for discovering contemporary vocal jazz at its highest level. Full concert recorded in Paris in 2025, with image and sound by ARTE Concert — a live performance to savour for the finesse of an artist already counted among the greats.
