Live filmed concert by French pianist Sofiane Pamart under the northern lights of Finnish Lapland, captured on 8 September 2021 for Cercle on the shore of Lake Jerisjärvi, between Muonio and Kittilä. Alone at his piano in a striking Arctic setting, Pamart unfolds a repertoire of original compositions blending neo-classical piano, pared-down melodies and a sense of narrative drawn from his work with the French rap scene. The capture, Cercle’s aesthetic signature, pairs drone footage of the Nordic landscape with close-ups of the pianist’s hands, for an experience between concert and landscape film. This full live set illustrates the approach that has made Sofiane Pamart one of the most-followed contemporary pianists: making classical music accessible by staging it in spectacular natural locations.
