Teddy Swims — TIDAL Sessions, 2023

Live session filmed for TIDAL Sessions in 2023, when Teddy Swims was one of the platform’s « Artists to Watch ». Hailing from Georgia, American singer Jaten Dimsdale, aka Teddy Swims, first made his name through viral covers before establishing a powerful, raw soul voice at the crossroads of pop, R&B and gospel. In this studio capture, he performs three songs — « Lose Control », « Some Things I’ll Never Know » and « Suitcase » — backed by a live band and an inhabited delivery. The intimate format highlights the grain of his voice, his emotional swells and his natural stage presence, months before « Lose Control » became a global hit. This filmed live performance offers a precious snapshot of an artist at a turning point in his career, captured in ideal sonic conditions. An ideal document for discovering Teddy Swims’s contemporary soul in 2023 and understanding why his voice became one of the most striking of the decade on the international pop-soul scene.
