In July 2025, American singer and producer Tinashe made her Boiler Room debut in New York, beneath the Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn, before a crowd of over five thousand. ‘Tinashe + Friends’ was no ordinary DJ set: for the first time, Boiler Room incorporated choreography, with eight dancers, and welcomed guests Aluna, Coco & Breezy and bassist Blu DeTiger. The set blends soul and R&B vocals, house grooves and material from Tinashe’s own catalogue, including her notable collaborations across the 2010s and 2020s. Filmed close to the crowd in Boiler Room’s raw, intimate aesthetic, this live capture documents a pivotal moment: an R&B artist stepping into the club format without giving up singing. This live performance offers a valuable snapshot of the mid-2020s New York scene, spanning contemporary soul, dance and stagecraft. A generous, danceable and vocal-led set, sitting right at the crossroads of genres — a full live show unlike a standard Boiler Room recording.
