Ben Böhmer — Cappadocia, Turkey (Cercle), 2020

Filmed live set by Ben Böhmer above Cappadocia, Turkey, aboard a hot-air balloon, produced by Cercle in 2020. The German producer and DJ, a leading figure of melodic house and contemporary deep house, performs his compositions live at daybreak as dozens of balloons rise into the sky. The capture, now emblematic of the Cercle series, pairs breathtaking directing with an electro live set full of layers, arpeggios and gradual build-ups. For fans of filmed live concerts, this set is a demonstration of Ben Böhmer’s art: patient construction, warm textures and a sense of emotional narration. Far from the club format, the performance plays on the fusion between music and landscape, characteristic of the Cercle approach. An immersive document that greatly contributed to the artist’s fame and remains a reference for filmed melodic-house live sets in a natural setting. An ideal capture to discover a melodic electronic music designed for escape as much as for the dancefloor.
