Full live set captured on 3 and 4 June 2023 at the very first edition of 909 Festival, in the Amsterdamse Bos, Amsterdam. A German producer active since the 2000s and founder of the Break New Soil label, Gregor Tresher is a reliable name in European melodic techno, known for his hypnotic lines and sense of build-ups. Presented here as a « live » performance rather than a simple DJ set, he shapes in real time a dense flow of pads, arpeggios and percussion, in the spirit of the Roland TR-909 drum machine the festival pays tribute to. The capture conveys the atmosphere of the Amsterdam woods and the connection with a crowd of connoisseurs. This filmed live performance is a fine example of real-time techno, where the sonic construction unfolds over time, far from a classic track-by-track sequence. A worthwhile document for grasping the Dutch open-air techno scene in 2023 and the art of live electronic performance, delivered by a rigorous, experienced artist at the height of his craft.
