On 9 May 2026, Metallica opened the European leg of the M72 World Tour at Athens’ OAKA Stadium before a crowd estimated at more than 80,000, the band’s first Greek show in sixteen years. This filmed live concert captures the 360° staging that defines the M72 run, built around a circular central stage and the surrounding snake pit. The full concert draws on nine of the band’s eleven studio albums, from Ride the Lightning’s « Creeping Death » and « For Whom the Bell Tolls » through to the inevitable « Master of Puppets » and « Enter Sandman ». A local highlight: Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo honour Greece with the « Zorba’s Dance » theme by Mikis Theodorakis and a song by the band Trypes. Shot in high-definition multicam, this video documents one of the biggest concerts of the year in Athens and delivers a complete live archive of James Hetfield and company at the peak of their anniversary tour.
