Momma — Audiotree Live, 2022

Live filmed session by the band Momma for Audiotree Live, in 2022, the year of their critically acclaimed album Household Name. Led by the duo Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten, Momma is an American rock band that slyly revisits the guitar sound of the 1990s, between power-pop, melodic grunge and indie rock, carried by two-part vocal harmonies and catchy choruses. In the Audiotree studio in Chicago, a reference for independent live sessions, the group unfolds a full set — Rip Off, Medicine, Tall Home, Motorbike, Speeding — with a saturated guitar sound, effective riffs and a raw energy perfectly captured. A multi-song live capture representative of the 2020s revival of guitar-driven alternative rock, one that openly embraces its heritage (Pavement, Veruca Salt, Smashing Pumpkins) while giving it a contemporary freshness and a sharper, more concise songwriting.
