Live filmed session by the Goo Goo Dolls for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk, released on 19 November 2025: the American rock band’s very first appearance behind the newsroom’s famous desk in Washington. In a tight acoustic format, founding members John Rzeznik (vocals, guitar) and Robby Takac revisit some of the songs that built their success since the 1990s, including the essential Iris, alongside Slide, Feel the Silence and the more recent Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes). The no-frills, low-volume Tiny Desk setting highlights the band’s rock-pop melodies, harmonies and raspy vocals, in a closeness that contrasts with their arena shows. Formed in Buffalo in 1986, the group is one of the dependable names of American alternative rock turned mainstream, and this multi-song live capture offers an intimate, stripped-down rereading of it that puts the songwriting and the harmonies first. Keywords: Goo Goo Dolls live, Tiny Desk 2025, NPR Music, live session, alternative rock, Iris, acoustic.
