A filmed live session by Monsieur Periné, recorded for World Cafe (NPR) at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia on 19 January 2016. A Colombian band led by the voice of Catalina García, Monsieur Periné blends gypsy swing, cumbia, Latin pop and Afro-Colombian rhythms into a signature fusion. This live capture, made for the Latin Roots Live! series hosted by David Dye, presents the group in an intimate, acoustic format, ideal for appreciating its arrangements and sense of melody. Several songs unfold live, carried by brass, strings and a warm rhythm section. A landmark concierto en directo for discovering the new Latin American scene of the 2010s, between tradition and modernity. Available in the livconcert catalogue, alongside the great live radio and studio sessions.
