Live 2019 documents Mylène Farmer’s exceptional residency at Paris La Défense Arena in Nanterre, held from 7 to 22 June 2019. After a six-year absence from the stage following the Timeless 2013 tour, the French chanson icon delivered nine sold-out concerts, drawing roughly 235,000 spectators for what was her seventh concert series, thirty years after her first tour in 1989. This filmed live concert, captured in the largest indoor arena in Europe, preserves a show conceived by Mylène Farmer and Laurent Boutonnat, who also directed the staging. Musical direction was handled by Olivier Schultheis leading a live band, while the choreography bore the signature of Parris Goebel and the costumes were designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. The setlist spans three decades of repertoire, from “Sans logique” and “Pourvu qu’elles soient douces” to “Désenchantée,” “Sans contrefaçon” and “Je te rends ton amour,” including a duet on “Stolen Car” with Sting on one date. A rare live appearance from one of France’s best-selling artists, this recording conveys the scale of a landmark event in French pop of 2019.
