Les Vieilles Canailles — Bercy, Paris, 2014

Full concert by Les Vieilles Canailles filmed at Bercy in Paris in 2014. The project brings together three giants of French song and rock — Johnny Hallyday, Jacques Dutronc and Eddy Mitchell — for a series of event concerts celebrating more than half a century of shared careers and friendship. On stage, the three companions alternate their greatest hits, duets and unprecedented trios, in an atmosphere at once festive and filled with happy nostalgia. This full concert documents one of the great popular events of the 2010s French stage, carried by a rock band and by the obvious rapport of the three performers. A prime piece for fans of French chanson, homegrown rock and quality variété, this live performance conveys the energy of a tour that became a cult event and the evident joy of three artists reunited before the Paris audience. Well worth (re)watching for the richness of the repertoire and the generosity of a show conceived as a grand celebration of song.
