An Australian quintet based in Berlin, Parcels cultivates a refined pop steeped in disco, funk and soft rock, carried by meticulous vocal harmonies and an impeccable groove. “Live Vol. 1” is their first live album, recorded live-to-tape at Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studio, a history-laden space that hosted David Bowie and the Pet Shop Boys. This 2020 live recording brings the five musicians together in a format at once intimate and demanding, with no audience, entirely focused on the musical performance. The video highlights the band’s cohesion: silky grooves, vintage keyboards, round basslines and vocals shared among the members. Far from a mere stage transposition, this document reveals Parcels’ craftsmanship as sound sculptors, able to reproduce live the finesse of their studio productions. An ideal live concert for fans of pop, nu-disco and melodic funk, served by a warm analog sound and polished imagery in a legendary studio where so much pop history was made. A rare chance to hear the band fully live.
