A live concert filmed in October 2025 for NPR Music’s Tiny Desk in Washington, this capture presents Parcels, the Australian quintet from Byron Bay now based in Berlin. Known for its luminous electro-pop albums that turn into dance parties on stage, the band immediately surprises by opening its session with near a cappella harmonies, carried by simple keys and guitar, before revealing the richness of its songwriting. The five musicians — four of them singers — weave a constant musical dialogue, between supple basslines, shimmering guitars and polished pop arrangements rooted in disco and funk. The Tiny Desk’s stripped-back format, with no effects and no audience, highlights the collective musicianship and egalitarian spirit of Parcels, returning here to its roots as a group of friends who once covered pop hits in bluegrass style busking on Berlin’s streets.
