Filmed live concert by the band Rapalje at the Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum (MPS), Europe’s largest touring medieval-fantasy festival, at its Hamburg edition (Germany) on 1 September 2017. A Dutch Celtic folk outfit, Rapalje draws on Irish, Scottish and Dutch repertoires, singing in English and Dutch. The 2017 lineup gathers William van der Laan, David Myles (pipes and whistles), Maceál Meijer and Dieb den Boer (fiddle). The roughly 90-minute set strings together Celtic standards and originals — The Galway Girl, Whiskey in the Jar, Fairytale of New York, Loch Lomond, Busindre Reel — in the festive, high-energy atmosphere typical of the MPS. A world-music and Celtic-folk full concert to enjoy for lovers of traditional music, bagpipes and festival captures. An ideal live for discovering Rapalje’s stage energy before a costumed crowd. An independent band recognisable by its long red hair and infectious energy, Rapalje maintains a loyal bond with the medieval-festival crowd. This full capture restores all the conviviality of their Celtic folk.
