Rema — Live in Nairobi, Kenya, 2024

Live concert footage of Rema in Nairobi, at Laureate Gardens, during his 2024 stop in Kenya. A star of Nigerian afrobeats, Rema (Divine Ikubor) champions his “afro-rave” world here, a blend of afrobeats, trap and international pop sounds that propelled him among the most-streamed African artists worldwide, not least through the “Calm Down” phenomenon. This full concert capture documents a stop on his African tour before a captivated crowd, the artist stringing together his hits carried by danceable rhythms, catchy melodies and infectious stage energy. The open-air concert conveys the atmosphere of a contemporary afrobeats show: crowd interaction, local guests and the fervor of a young audience. For fans of world music and afrobeats, this 2024 live concert is a landmark: a leading artist of the new African scene, a notable Kenyan stop and a complete capture of a set that illustrates the global reach of Nigerian afro-pop. A representative document of live African music as it travels the world today.
