Filmed live on February 27, 2016 in the KEXP radio studio in Seattle, this performance features the Texan trio Ringo Deathstarr, a key name in shoegaze and noise-pop descended from My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain. Across three songs — “Guilt,” “Frisbee” and “Summertime” — the Austin band unfurls its wall of saturated guitars, weightless male-female vocals and a restless rhythm section. Recorded in the studio’s intimate setting, the session captures the group’s sonic density with no studio gloss: controlled feedback, reverb-drenched melodies and raw energy. Hosted by Troy Nelson and filmed by the KEXP crew (sound by Julian Martlew), this live full performance showcases the vitality of the 2010s American shoegaze scene. A short but dense live concert, it is an ideal entry point to Ringo Deathstarr on stage, in the tradition of the KEXP full sessions that have documented a decade of independent music in Seattle.
