Sexion d’Assaut — Live at Le Dôme, Marseille, 2022

This live concert captures French rap group Sexion d’Assaut at Le Dôme in Marseille, in 2022, on their “Le Retour des Rois” (Return of the Kings) reunion tour. After a hiatus that began in 2013, during which Gims and Black M became solo stars, the Paris collective reunited in 2022 around its core members: Gims, Black M, Lefa, Barack Adama, Maska, Doomams, JR O Crom and L.I.O Petrodollars. The full concert celebrates a decade of the band’s career and the repertoire of the albums “L’École des points vitaux” (2010) and “L’Apogée” (2012), featuring landmark tracks of 2010s French rap. On stage, the MCs trade multi-voice verses, sung hooks and the collective energy that built the group’s reputation. The tour, launched in spring 2022, filled major halls and arenas across France, including Paris La Défense Arena. This live performance documents the long-awaited reunion of a major act of the French rap scene, before a Marseille audience that came to hear again the hits that marked an entire generation of listeners in France and beyond.
