Theo Croker — Jazz en Tête, Clermont-Ferrand, 2025

A live concert by American trumpeter Theo Croker at the Maison de la Culture in Clermont-Ferrand, during the Jazz en Tête festival, broadcast by Qwest TV. Grandson of the legendary trumpeter Doc Cheatham and spiritual heir to Donald Byrd, Croker has become one of the most adventurous voices in contemporary jazz. This roughly fifty-minute concert presents music from his album « Dream Manifest », released in 2025, where his silky trumpet converses with electronic textures, deep grooves and an Afrofuturist aesthetic. Between jazz, soul and electronic music, the set reveals an artist who refuses boundaries. This filmed live performance conveys the finesse of a seated hall concert and the cohesion of a band serving a personal vision. A valuable full concert for fans of live jazz and creative music, documenting a French stop on the tour of a musician to watch, filmed live at one of Europe’s most respected jazz festivals.
