Patrice Rushen — Montclair Jazz Festival, 2026

Filmed live on 15 August 2026 at the Montclair Jazz Festival in New Jersey, this full set brings together pianist, composer and musical director Patrice Rushen. Classically trained and first celebrated in the 1970s, she built a body of work at the crossroads of jazz, R&B and soul, and was among the first women to serve as musical director for major American televised award shows. On stage she runs through thirteen songs, from “Number One” to such classics as “Haven’t You Heard”, “Forget Me Nots” and “Feels So Real (Won’t Let Go)”, by way of “Remind Me” and “Settle for My Love”. Backed by her band, she delivers a harmonically rich jazz-funk shaped by inventive solos and an impeccable groove. This full live performance from a leading jazz festival documents the longevity and artistry of a musician hailed as one of the great pianists of her generation. A live concert to enjoy in its entirety.
