Umek — Vinyl Techno DJ Set, SECTION., 2026

All-vinyl techno DJ set by Umek, filmed for the SECTION. series in October 2026. Born Uroš Umek, the Slovenian DJ and producer from Ljubljana has been a pillar of European techno since the 1990s, a pioneer of his country’s scene and a regular in the world’s biggest clubs. For nearly an hour he delivers a demanding, rolling set played entirely on vinyl turntables, a reminder of old-school mixing craft: beatmatching by ear, tight transitions and a sharp selection of techno productions. The SECTION. capture favours gesture and texture, the camera close to the hands and the records, for a filmed live concert that documents a performance as much as a philosophy of DJing. Fans of both hard and melodic techno will find the groove science of a veteran still very much active. This 2026 vinyl live set is a fine entry point into contemporary techno and the legacy of the Ljubljana scene, captured with care by SECTION.
