Ab-Soul — Rolling Loud California, 2025

In 2025, California rapper Ab-Soul delivers a full set at Rolling Loud California, one of the world’s largest hip-hop festivals. A longtime member of the Black Hippy collective alongside Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock, Ab-Soul is known for his dense, introspective and often esoteric writing. Filmed by the festival, this live concert shows him in front of a packed crowd, running through his tracks with the intensity and stage presence that built his underground reputation. The footage documents the energy of a contemporary hip-hop festival set: crowd interaction, a nervy flow and a selection drawn from a critically acclaimed catalogue. For fans of US rap and lyricism, this filmed live concert offers a faithful snapshot of the Californian hip-hop scene in 2025 and of Ab-Soul’s singular place in the West Coast galaxy. A rap live worth discovering to measure the gap between studio and stage. The set also underlines Ab-Soul’s reputation as a rapper’s rapper, prized for intricate wordplay and conceptual depth rather than chart-chasing hooks, and his Rolling Loud appearance confirms his enduring connection with a dedicated fan base.
