Alexander Abreu y Havana D’Primera — Palmeras Festival, Lima, 2025

Full concert (concierto completo) by Alexander Abreu y Havana D’Primera, recorded live at the Palmeras Festival in Lima, Peru, in 2025. Founded in 2007 by Latin Grammy-winning trumpeter and singer Alexander Abreu, Havana D’Primera is one of the most popular bands of the new Cuban generation and a flag-bearer for timba, the modern evolution of salsa born in Cuba. The roughly fifteen-piece ensemble blends Afro-Cuban tradition and contemporary arrangements, driven by Abreu’s voice and trumpet. This filmed live capture delivers the energy of a complete timba concert before the Lima audience, at a festival dedicated to salsa and Cuban music. Horns, percussion and montunos follow one another in an intense dance atmosphere. A Latin live concert ideal for fans of salsa and timba, and for discovering on stage one of the most prominent Cuban bands on today’s international scene.
