Why this recording

On 9 June 2014, Avenged Sevenfold played Pinkpop with Arin Ilejay on drums, a touring musician since 2011 who became an official member in 2013 and was let go in July 2015 before Brooks Wackerman arrived: the video documents that in-between chapter of the band. Nine songs fit into 56 minutes, from “Shepherd of Fire” as the opener to “Unholy Confessions” as the closer, with “Hail to the King” at the heart of the set. The footage comes from Pinkpop Archive, a channel devoted to the festival's archives, which posted it in 2026.

Released by the official Pinkpop festival archive, this Avenged Sevenfold full concert was filmed on 9 June 2014 in Landgraaf, the Netherlands, in the middle of the ‘Hail to the King’ album tour. The Californian metal band delivers a set built for wide open spaces: massive riffs, theatrical breaks and unifying anthems. A pro-shot live capture, the image and sound do justice to the stage power of the quintet fronted by M. Shadows. The setlist runs through ‘Shepherd of Fire’, ‘Bat Country’, ‘Hail to the King’, ‘Nightmare’ and ‘Unholy Confessions’, an effective distillation of the band’s career. For fans of modern metal, this video is a prime piece: a complete festival concert, documented and gripping, where you can measure the precision of a band at the top of its game before a red-hot Dutch crowd. A filmed live concert not to be missed.
