Carla’s Dreams — Europa FM Live pe Plajă, 2016

Full live concert by the Carla’s Dreams collective at the Europa FM Live pe Plajă 2016 festival, captured on the beach between Venus and Saturn on the Romanian coast, during the biggest music event on the shoreline that year. Masked and anonymous on principle, Carla’s Dreams has become one of the most singular projects in Romanian and Moldovan pop, at the crossroads of pop, alternative rock and electro. This roughly forty-minute full concert unfolds a setlist of key tracks — “Zarplata,” “Nascut in Moldova,” “P.O.H.U.I.,” “Sub pielea mea,” “Acele,” “Aripile,” “Unde,” “Te rog” — before a massive beach crowd. The night-time atmosphere, the lighting and the energy of the live show give this official Europa FM capture a fine intensity. For anyone discovering the Eastern European pop scene, this filmed live concert offers a representative glimpse of the Carla’s Dreams sound: catchy melodies, double-edged Romanian lyrics and a deliberately mysterious aesthetic, delivered here under the conditions of a summer live show.
